EasyCut 3 Cutterbar Finger Types

EasyCut 3 -
Double Fingers - Standard
This type is the proven all-rounder for classic combine harvesting with a rigid cutterbar at normal stubble height. Its slender geometry and extended tips are optimally designed to securely grasp, bundle, and evenly feed standing or slightly lodged grain to the cutting unit. It offers maximum efficiency and reliable crop flow for all standard crops such as cereals, rapeseed, and other threshing crops.

EasyCut 3 -
Double Fingers - Extra Short
This specialized design was specifically developed for very low cutting requirements in modern flex cutting units. Due to the significantly shortened finger length and rounded tips, very short stubble heights and shallow cutting angles can be achieved without spearing crops or introducing soil and stones into the cutting unit. In addition, the short design significantly minimizes the risk of breakage upon ground contact – the ideal choice for ground-level crops such as soybeans or peas.

EasyCut 3 -
Special Fingers
For special requirements and specific positions in the cutting unit, such as in the knife head area, knife overlap, or at the outer edges, the system is supplemented by custom-made special fingers. These fingers combine the entire mechanical evolution of the latest EasyCut 3 generation but are designed for their specific application without the QuickFit® function. Due to their special geometry, these fingers are traditionally bolted, but they offer the significantly increased stability of the overall EasyCut 3 system.

EasyCut 3 Mounting Kit
for Double Fingers with QuickFit:
A mounting kit with all necessary components is available for installing the EC3 double fingers:
Mounting Kit Contents:
- 2 Screws
- 2 Nuts
- 1x Spacer
- 1x Mounting Plate A
- 1x Mounting Plate B
The EasyCut 3 double finger is fully backward compatible with existing EasyCut II systems when using the mounting kit. The mounting kit is suitable for all versions of the EasyCut 3 double fingers with the QuickFit® system.
EasyCut 3 Facts & Features:
EasyCut 3 QuickFit® Cutterbar Fingers
The innovative new design of the cutterbar finger significantly optimizes assembly efficiency and guarantees maximum stability under demanding harvesting conditions.
Structure & Type Identification:
The cutterbar fingers are manufactured to fit the respective angle bar/mounting profiles in three mounting dimensions: 12 mm, 14 mm, and 17 mm.
Function & Disassembly:
The finger features a U-shaped opening at the rear edge. After simply loosening the fastening nut, the cutterbar finger can be easily pulled out forwards. When inserting, an integrated spacer ensures that the mounting gap remains open.
The New V-Geometry:
The innovative design increases bending stiffness by 50% and extends the effective cutting length by 10%.
Increased Breakage Resistance:
A wider transition from the fingertip to the finger base drastically minimizes the risk of breakage.
Section Modulus:
A parallel, overlapping reinforcement in the upper area ensures an extremely high section modulus, which is particularly advantageous when using crop lifters.
Important Note on Type Identification – EasyCut 3 QuickFit Double Fingers
The EasyCut-3-mm Rule:
Embossed dimension ≠ Installation dimension
The type designation is, as usual, embossed directly on the cutterbar fingers and serves for identification when ordering spare parts.
However, when switching from EasyCut II to EasyCut 3, there is an important difference: For EasyCut 3 cutterbar fingers with QuickFit, a 3 mm thick element – either a mounting plate or a roller guide holder – is always additionally mounted between the cutterbar finger and the angle bar. The actual installation dimension is therefore always: embossed number + 3 mm.

EasyCut II Cutterbar Finger Types

Standard Double Fingers
The double cutting edges of the SCHUMACHER finger enable balanced knife guidance. The cutterbar fingers are primarily used in grain harvesting in 12, 14, and 17 mm versions.

Extra Short Double Fingers
The extra short double fingers are primarily used in soybean harvesting. The rounded tips prevent spearing of stalks. The shortened length allows working with crop material lying close to the ground.

Special Fingers
SCHUMACHER's special fingers are used in the knife head area, in the overlap area of wide double-driven cutting units, and for special applications.
Precise and Gripping
EasyCut II Cutterbar Fingers
The EasyCut II cutterbar fingers offer high stability and balanced knife guidance.
Box-section design
EasyCut II cutterbar fingers have extreme vertical stability due to two-sided bolting to the angle bar, as well as perfect adaptation and secure fit through mounting with a guide plate. The Schumacher cutterbar finger has double cutting edges for balanced knife guidance.
Your Advantages:
Highly wear-resistant surface with an elastic core
Formed cutting edges
Special hardening process
High stability with maximum flexibility
Double cutting edges
Precise cutting gap for smooth knife operation
Version
Mounting dimension: 12, 14, and 17 mm for optimal adaptation of the cutting system to the existing angle bar and flex bar
