By purchasing a Claas Europa combine harvester,
Gustav Schumacher becomes a pioneer and trailblazer of self-propelled harvesting technology in the Westerwald region around Altenkirchen.


A brilliant idea
1965
Gustav Schumacher receives his first patent for inventing the
quick-release crop lifter.
Two brothers, one company
1968
Establishment of the crop lifter sales operation and founding of Gebr. Schumacher GmbH by Gustav and Günter Schumacher; expansion of the portfolio to include cutting system technology.


Growth and innovation
1978
Founding of EWM. Eichelhardter Werkzeug- und
Maschinenbau GmbH; expansion of the portfolio to include drive technology.
2nd generation
1994
Management taken over by the sons
Fred Schumacher and Heinz-Günter Schumacher.
