MORITZ SCHUMACHER JOINS THE MANAGEMENT TEAM
NEXT STEP OF THE GENERATIONAL CHANGE
Moritz Schumacher’s entry into the management of SCHUMACHER GmbH, Rasspe Systemtechnik GmbH and SMF-Holding GmbH marks a further step of the generational change in the long-established family company. Born in 1993, Fred Schumacher’s son and Selina Schumacher’s brother joined the management team on May 1 of this year and will continue his responsibility as Director Finance & Legal. With Moritz and Selina Schumacher, who already took over the operational management of the newly founded SCHUMACHER GmbH in September 2020, the third generation is now in charge.
EXPERIENCE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE FAMILY COMPANY
After graduating from high school, Moritz Schumacher first completed a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering with a focus on production and logistics at the Technical University of Cologne. This was followed by a master’s degree in industrial engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Südwestfalen, which he successfully completed in 2018. Moritz Schumacher gained professional experience in various jobs during his studies, inter alia at Siemens, as well as at SMF-Holding GmbH. Following his master’s degree, he deepened this experience in his role as a project engineer for the management of a leading company in the field of gearing technology.
FAMILY BUSINESS – FAR BEYOND THE BORDERS OF THE COUNTRY
For Moritz Schumacher, the long-term financial stability of the group of companies and the clear commitment to the sites in Germany and abroad are of crucial importance. “I am pleased that with my new role as Managing Director we have taken another step towards a generational change. We are facing major challenges. Whether it’s demographic change and the resulting shortage of skilled professionals, the situation in Ukraine and Russia, which could lead to food shortages on the world market.“
